Can I eat the gourds?
There are inherent diffculties trying to cook and eat them. Not to mention, a bitter taste. Also, a reminder that the skin is glossed so it would be best to just avoid eating them and try a squash instead.

How long will my ornamental pumpkins last?
If stored properly pumpkins and squash will last two to three months.
How can I keep my ornamental gourds from rotting?
Unless you hang them, you'll have to turn your gourds every couple of weeks. This will allow them to dry evenly, and it should prevent rotting.
How long do carved pumpkins last?
As soon as you carve a pumpkin, the clock starts counting down. You have anywhere from three to five days max before they start to soften and get moldy
